Back to Where it All Began

Out of all the possible places in the country my first assignment is right back to the airport where I learned to fly in Holland, Michigan!

What a great way to start out this trip! I was able to stay with a friend and visit with lots of others. I was able to attend a couple of meetings and see everyone from my old Civil Air Patrol squadron. I was able to play hockey with my old hockey team (Sorry, the action shots didn't turn out). And, I was able to spend Thanksgiving with friends instead of eating at Cracker Barrel with the guys.

The flying was in bunches with several days of low clouds and generally dreary weather in between. The week of Thanksgiving brought record high temperatures and clear skies so naturally my plane broke down. Eventually, we were chased out of the area by lake effect snow before we could finish. Hopefully I'll get to return in the spring to finish up.
